It's like the stories you hear where a small business says something stupid online -often things I disagree with- and then they are swarmed with thousands of bad Yelp reviews. This makes me very uncomfortable even if I disagree with the stance the business owner has taken. The people Rolling Stone interviewed weren't even there. I agree: cowards.
