Amidst the post-election chaos, we’re receiving queries about ways to fight Trump's agenda at the local, state, and national levels. For the time being, we will serve as an information source for the over 800 people on our database, sharing news about urgent, time-sensitive​ campaigns and actions​. (As opposition to Trump's agenda increasingly takes shape, we will consider how best to contribute to that goal over the longer term.)

This week we are focusing like a laser on one effort: STOP STEPHEN BANNON. His appointment as White House Senior Counselor is not a done deal. Opposition is gaining steam against the appointment of this white-supremacist, anti-semitic, misogynist. See below.

​7 WAYS ​TO HELP STOP BANNON

Take 5-10 minutes to call on the following people (Democrats and Republicans) to publicly oppose Bannon’s appointment.

​LOCAL AND CA:
​1) ​Sign this petition​ to all members of Congress and the Senate. Encourage our own elected officials to fight. Call: Lois Capps [phone], Dianne Feinstein [phone], Barbara Boxer [phone].
2) Your local clergy person. Ask her/him to speak out to the national umbrella organization of clergy of their faith.
​3)​ SB Chamber of Commerce President Ken Oplinger [phone]. Ask him to issue a statement that Bannon should be opposed, and to relay it both locally and to the national Chamber of Commerce.

​NATIONALLY:
4​ House Speaker ​Paul Ryan [phone] (​he is feigning ignorance again) and ​Sen. ​Majority Leader Mitch McConnell [phone].
​​5) The National Chamber of Commerce [phone].
​6​​ ​Think of two friends or family in states with ‘establishment’ (not Tea-Party) Republicans. Ask them to call on their Representative or Senator to oppose Bannon.
7) Call out the media when they report the Bannon appointment as a straight news story or refer to him as a "Breitbart executive” but don't call him what he is: a white supremacist, anti-semitic, misogynist.
