When Obama first took office, Democrat Bobby Bright won this district in Alabama. Over the next two years, Rep. Bright amassed and maintained a Top 2 worst Democratic voting record in the House. He opposed every piece of legislation proposed by Obama and the Party without fail.

I frequently emailed him asking him to throw us Democrats a bone, something to justify his support as a Democrat, and his consistent reply was that he and his district constituents were fiscal and social conservatives, and he disagreed with the Party and its more liberal direction.

Along comes Republican Martha Roby in 2010. Her entire campaign was predicated on the one single vote Bobby Bright made that she could take to the bank!

His vote for Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker of the House in 2008!

Today, the significance of our abandonment of Blue Dogs and DINO's particularly in the South, the move towards ideological Party Purity, and away from hard-nosed pragmatism, is on display.

We lost the Democratic majority. We have unending investigations of our Democratic presidents and now Democratic candidates. The Democrats who gave us a majority are now replaced by this kind of Republican - Martha Roby - giving us Congressional hearings to do nothing more than destroy a Democratic candidate's support and character through innuendo and speculation.

We got rid of our little Blue Dogs and got this...

"All politics is local?" Damn straight!
