… I also agree with the characterization of referring to them as "followers" rather than "supporters". Now THAT is perfect! I couldn't quite put my finger on it before, and I couldn't understand what it was that seemed so odd about them. But more and more, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's a cult-like worship. (Not all, but many.)
