As far as the hypothetical republican match ups are concerned, they are meaningless.

A President is determined by the states through the electoral college. These supposed match ups do NOT take that into consideration in their polls.

A nominee is also determined by the states, and the number of delegates.

Until the nominees are actually chosen, that is when it becomes real.
