7. I hate Cruz, but I'm pulling for him

The "boy in the bubble" is definitely robotic, but hes a slick articulate teenager.

Trump is a wild card, but still a bit of dangerous wild card who the Republican establishment will back if they have no other choice because they view him as "pliable", unlike Cruz

Cruz is the favorite of the Tea Party, but they have been falling out of favor for some time. The Republican establishment hates Cruz and they are afraid that if elected he would ruin their brand for some time to come.

However, the determining factor in my mind is that lately the further right a Republican candidate swings, the less chance he has in the general election. Cruz doesn't have to swing to the far right, he has been there forever. I would love for him to get on stage with Hillary and explain this grandstanding attempts to shut down the government given the public's rage over government gridlock. Hillary will paint Cruz as "Mr. Gridlock".
