(6,496 posts)I pretty much feel the same way about Hillary and Bernie. I think Hillary is better suited for the job overall, but it's not like I totally dislike Bernie Sanders. I think you are right about the republicans and Bernie too. They haven't wasted any time on him because they don't think he is going to be the nominee (it's certainly not because they like him). If he was the nominee, I think they'd tear him to shreds. Hillary is going to do better in the debates against the republican nominee, I think. I have this feeling that if Bernie did manage to become president that he would be very ineffective. I don't think he will be able to get the republicans to do anything. I think Hillary, of any democrat out there today, would be able to get something out of the republicans.
I'm close to your age, almost 37. Seems like everyone in the "young" crowd is into Bernie. I feel like I have one foot in the young crowd and one foot in the old crowd at my age. I guess I'm an oldish young person or youngish old person.
Being a woman, I find it strange that the younger women are not more supportive of Hillary. I think it is perhaps because they have bought into the republican propaganda against her all these years. I've also seen a series of young famous women proclaim themselves to not be feminists over the last year or so... I think even Lady Gaga, of all people... so maybe I shouldn't be surprised by this. I guess I don't understand. I'm just a touch too old to relate. I don't understand why it is suddenly cool to proclaim yourself to not be a feminist. It's just not at all how I was raised and how I thought things would be like when I got older. This country seems to be in a total regressive period right now. We're backtracking on progress made years ago.
