She almost ran the table on the individual counties: she won 58 of a total 62, including all but one of the upstate-ish counties, that usually vote red. It was the second most decisive win in US Senate races in NYS ever. (Admittedly, the R's were in serious disarray that year, since no top tier Republican wanted to run against her.)

In 2000, she took 55% of the vote and around 15 of the counties, including a few of the upstate ones. So her popularity grew even more over her first term.

It makes Sanders' insistence that he is going to win NYS kind of a head scratcher.
