At my last session of phone banking for Hillary, there was a delightful young male millennial who was very excited about Hillary and also very excited about being a first-time voter.

We chatted about how we both liked Bernie (at the time, I still did) but how we both found Clinton to be the more substantive of the two. Some of our co-phone bankers wondered how we could reach out more to "millennials" and our lone millennial admitted that feverish enthusiasm for Bernie was running very high among most of his friends and that it was indeed very difficult to get them to look at Hillary objectively. Anyway, we all worked very hard that night and were delighted when our work was rewarded with the Super Tuesday wins on March 15.

This past weekend, this young colleague was also present at our local Hillary campaign kick-off. When he saw me, he rushed over and threw his arms around me, saying "We did it!" so that all those around us chuckled and this staid great-grandmother was quite touched - inside and outside.

Hillary has done nothing this week to dim her luster in the eyes of her supporters. Bernie unfortunately has. One consequence is that friends of my enthusiastic and delightful millennial may now be taking a second and longer look at her - to his detriment.

Lost goodwill is very hard to regain.
