As a result of that thread I was thinking about that day in May of 2008 when I was in DC. A "journalist" came up and asked me a question about why I was supporting Hillary. I gave her my answer but then she started arguing with me because she didn't like my answer. I verified that she was a "journalist" and said I didn't understand what she was doing. We continued to go back and forth and somewhere along the way she got to her main point. Even though I had not stated that I was supporting Hillary because she is a woman, actually if anything I would support Hillary because I am a woman, the "journalist" kept insisting that we are in a post feminist era and Hillary's sex should not matter. It was weird as she tried to convince me that it was Barack's time.
One of the people I had traveled with to DC teaches Women's Studies and had immediately recognized the woman who was "interviewing" me. They got into a big argument about whether or not we are in a post feminist period. I just listened because I thought it was really bizarre that anyway would try to make that argument. My friend even referred to some of the journalists writings. I was just standing on the side going "What the hell?"
Anyway, after the past few years of the war on women I don't think anyone (except teabagger) thinks that is an argument with any merit and it won't be used this time around.
jftr - this is the "journalist" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Goldberg
She shows up on MSNBC once in awhile. I turn it off.
