8. Bernie would look better...

... and would be doing them both a world of good if he just came out today and apologized for misreading the Washington Post story. We can forgive mistakes, but not intentional acts of malice.

That's what Bernie's claim was, barring an apology. If he continues to stand by it, it was a cold-blooded act of pre-meditated character assassination. It's in a different league than any 'artful smear' that either side might have thrown around.

Now, he just looks like any other sniveling politician who will say anything he has to in order to win.
