Same for this liberal Catholic. Something they don't understand, is what drives Pope Francis theologically. He is a JESUIT. Social justice is a big, big thing with the Jesuits, and always has been. It is core to the order. Something else, if they think about it, should say something about this attempted "gotcha" of Pope Francis. He avoided his home country for two years after he became Pope to avoid becoming entangled in the politics of his HOME COUNTRY. He's certainly not going to go out of his way to become entangled in AMERICAN politics at a small conference being held in Vatican City. Going by past actions, I would expect this Pope to avoid becoming entangled in our politics as well.
