38. "His tax preparer"?

You know that, like millions of other Americans, Bernie and Jane Sanders do their own taxes. I do mine too, and I don't see anything wrong with them doing that.

But here's the thing: He's using the classic "my dogs ate my homework" excuse to avoid pulling out his returns. Since he and his wife are the "dogs" here, that ultimately won't fly - and it shouldn't be flying now.

Back in the 1960s there was some hippie guru who told all his young followers, "never trust anyone over 30." He was 32 when he said it. Are we seeing this sentiment redux in Bernie's "never trust the rich" thing? If he turns out to BE one of the rich - and as simply as he is claimed to live, he should have a nice little estate set aside - we are.
