Did you see this little gem in the PetroCaribe thread? (http://www.democraticunderground.com/110815938)

Machado to Petrocaribe: Country situation is fragile and unsustainable

Opposition Congresswoman Maria Corina Machado sent a statement to members of Petrocaribe, which calls for them to take an objective position on the political crisis in the country. "It is the best card that could play for you and your people in a democratic future that will soon come to Venezuela".

Caracas. - Today Maria Corina Machado, the deputy and coordinator of the Henrique Capriles campaign, warned participating members of Petrocaribe Summit about Venezuela's serious political situation.

Through a statement, Machado addresses the participants of the Democratic members of Petrocaribe meeting that began today in Venezuela to whom she sent a warning message for the people they represent.

The text said: "Through you, their rulers, because Venezuela is passing through a period of crisis and high political and socioeconomic instability."

"In addition to gross violations that occurred throughout the electoral process which resulted in the election of April 14, there are also serious problems with supply, drop in productivity (including oil), runaway inflation, devaluation of our currency and a growing social discontent over the election results. The regime inviting PetroCaribe nations to Venezuela, has shown evidence of weakness because of its illegitimacy and low capacity to generate trust. Their strategy in such a situation has been the criminalization of protests and the de facto suspension of constitutional guarantees as they prosecute the democratic opposition. "

...

"There are no guarantees on the offers the illegitimate government makes to you. We ask you not to submit to any pressure or blackmail by cashing out on Venezuela's generosity with requirements to support political positions that don't have the support of the majority of our people," she added.
