Dengue Epidemic Increasingly Aggressive In Paraguay

ASUNCION, May 13 (BERNAMA-NNN-Prensa Latina) -- The dengue epidemic permanently plaguing Paraguay is the most aggressive known in the country and there is still no sign of a solution, recognized by the Ministry of Public Health.

Hospitals crowded with sick or people with symptoms, 128,000 cases reported nationwide and 57 deaths so far this year are just a sample of the scope and permanence achieved by the sickness.

Of the total number of possible cases reported, experts counted 83,026 people with evil and also fear a greater increase of those numbers.

This is the most serious epidemic Paraguay has endured because of the greater number of severe cases and confirmed circulation of serotype 4 disease, which was present from the past year, complicating the situation, the ministry admitted.
