I think Chavez had an excuse, the guy had terminal cancer. I'm not sure he should have run again, though. He must have known it was hopeless. I think Maduro went to Cuba first to get advice, it's well known he gets a lot from the Cubans. And the other trips, I think he visited 4 countries were to ask for help. Venezuela's food supply is low and he also asked for debt to be paid back now.
