Unesco accepts documents of historical significance suggested by others. I have rummaged through the collection and it is very uneven because some countries submit more material than others. For example Germany submitted the documents referring to the construction of the Berlin Wall and its eventual destruction, as well as treaty material which dissolved Eastern Germany and let its territory be absorbed into Germany itself.

I'd like to see a more balanced coverage, because some countries have presented a biased set of documents and ignored others. Or I suppose the original manuscripts are in private collections or the secret Vatican archives and they can't be touched. I would love to have a first hand look at quite a few of those, but I don't think I ever will.
