The big pattern in the past was to pick them off individually, dividing and separating them, and there wasn't the unity most of them are seeking now. They really are trying to unify the Americas, so it stands to reason the U.S. will be trying as hard as possible to create schisms, favoring some over the others, providing incentives to some while punishing others, just as in the earlier days.

During George W Bush's presidency, great efforts were made to try to lure Brazil's Lula da Silva, and Argentina's Nestor Kirchner away from their support for Hugo Chavez, which went over like a lead balloon with those men, who told the Bush people where to put their meddling concerning their colleague.

The US State Department, the Pentagon never sleep. They'll never give up working against the leftists.
