3. it needs to be mentioned again and again Hugo's Venezuela is the most violent, corrupt,

and poorly managed country in latin South America. Where the boligarch elite manage the affairs of state for their own benefit, shortages are the norm, power outages are frequent, infrastructure is in disrepair, and inflation is sky high. No other country wants or accepts Bolivars, even the ostensible Friends of Hugo countries. Venezuelans need to get permission and receive an allowance in order to travel. Foreign travelers don't venture there.

None of this was the case pre-Chavez with the exception of corruption that has only worsened under Hugo and his idiot succesor.
