Gustavo Enrique González López is to replace Brigadier General Gregorio Manuel Bernal Martínez as the director of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (Sebin).

The move came after President Nicolás Maduro said publicly that Sebin officers failed to follow his orders of confinement.

The appointment was published in the Official Gazette No. 40,357, decree 793, on Tuesday.
