2. The Bush Junta picked Uribe to run their ops in Colombia for this very reason--

--he was already a criminal, with a history of ties to rightwing death squads and drug trafficking that go all the way back to the beginning of his career. Picked, groomed, installed, in a junta closely parallel to, and intricately connected with, Bush Jr.'s. They gave him OUR "Medal of Freedom," because "freedom," to them, means the freedom to murder people with impunity and to commit other major crimes with impunity; in Uribe's case--in addition to his close ties to death squads and drug trafficking--spying on judges and prosecutors to protect his criminal network and the Bush Junta's activities in Colombia, spying on labor union leaders to feed names and directions to the death squads, and spying on his political "enemies" all of whom he called "terrorists"; bribing legislators to prolong his term of power; negotiating a secret, unconstitutional agreement with the Bush Junta to expand the Pentagon's bases in Colombia; arranging midnight extradition of death squad members and drug traffickers, to the U.S., to be "buried" in the U.S. federal prison system, over the vociferous objections of Colombian prosecutors; stealing peasant farmers' lands and distributing them to his cronies; and gawd knows what else. Over one hundred of his closest political associates, including family members, are under investigation or already in jail for crimes like his, and Colombian prosecutors have been trying to nail Uribe himself for some time.

Uribe is a CRIME BOSS--a 'mafia don.' They gave him OUR "Medal of Freedom" because so are they. Bush. Cheney. Rumsfeld. & brethren (& sisteren). Master criminals.
