Just went to google images to see what Manistee National Forest is, and was thunderstruck. It is SO beautiful there. There are so many who would love to go there for peace and quiet, to re-orient, refocus, take a spiritual bath.

It looks wonderful.

Glad to read your post. Had no idea that was the situation in a lot of places in the U.S. It is a huge country, for sure.
