30 years or so ago our local independent bank was bought out but North Carolina National Bank or NCNB. I walked into the lobby and there was a huge banner that read "NCNB and New Star rises over Texas." Now even the most laid back Texas would take offense at that. Shortly after we moved our banking business because a different reason. They moved all loans across the state to Lubbock and couldn't keep things straight. Once that loan was paid off it was Adios to NCNB.

Tamales are eaten year round here, especially at Christmas.
