Santeria `Holy Man' Accused Of Girls' Rape


NEW YORK - A New York man who was regarded as a holy man in the practice of Santeria has been charged with the rape and sodomy of three girls who came to him for cures.

Robert Berta, 52, was arrested last week on charges that he raped and sexually abused the three girls, ages 10, 12 and 15, as part of rituals to "cleanse" them, officials said.

The largely Hispanic religion is a mix of Catholic and African beliefs that includes animal sacrifices.

Diario Las Américas: "Robert Serra tendría 4 expedientes por violación a menores"
En un artículo de Diario Las Américas se pudo conocer que el fallecido diputado de la Asamblea Nacional, Robert Serra, tendría 4 supuestos expedientes por "violación a menores", de cuales dos habrían desaparecido con la ayuda de la Fiscal General de Venezuela, Luisa Ortega Díaz.

Los expedientes habían sido introducidos en el despacho a su cargo. Las presuntas violaciones se usaron en un acto de "supuesta santería".
