Besides the many other potentially deleterious consequences of such a result, you can be sure that right-wing factions in the Argentine curia will be emboldened to defy Francis in every way they can.

They're also very much looking forward to welcoming back into the flock, with open arms, the 600 Dirty War criminals Cristina Kirchner put behind bars or under house arrest over the past 8 years. Archbishop Romero, they are not.
