The Maduro--Chavez regime made its own mess. It ran its state-owned businesses incompetently, scared away its most competent personnel, hamstrung its private sector, and let inflation run riot.

Blaming US "imperialism" is the fall-back position of every other Third-World hack who runs his or her economy into the ground. Progressive's are WAY too credulous when it comes to believing such Bush-whah.
