And on top of all that, now he wants to privatize Social Security. Young Maurice seems to forget that he lives in a country where private pension funds (known in Argentina as AFJPs) have the same reputation NAFTA does here in the U.S. - and very deservedly so.

But the IMF is all for it, so he is too. He'd jump off that British clock tower we were talking about the other day if the IMF told him to.

That said, I hope he gets better. Like Macri I have a lot of Italian forebears (although mine are from northern Italy, while his were from the south), and heart problems do seem to come with the territory. I'm still young myself (knock wood); but I've lost - or almost lost - quite a few male relatives to heart attacks while still in their 50s and 60s.

Thank you as always for your observations Judi. This is certainly turning out to be an interesting year as far the news.
