3. Everything is a number to a computer - so you can replace some characters in a web address with numbers.

Some characters in web addresses here on DU truncate the link prematurely. If that happens, you can change he "broken" character with its numerical equivalent (known as URL encoding) to get it to work here (most of the time). Here is a reference to look up the hexadecimal number needed to encode the "broken" character:
