I find it really weird when an event happening in 2002 is hailed as proof for something happeing RIGHT NOW.
"The US tried to overthrow Chavez. Therefore, the only possible explanation is that the US are trying to overthrow Maduro now..."
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.

The mainstream media spreads the propaganda that President Nicolas Maduro is a dictator. That Maduro is repressive and killing his own people of peacefull demonstrators. That the Venezuelan Supreme Court judges are his cronies and exceeded their constitutional powers. That the Constituent Referendum called by Maduro was illegal. That the elections have been a fraud. That the opposition are patriots who are demanding democracy. That Maduro has singlehandedly destroyed Venezuela's economy. That the press and television media is censored by Maduro. That the reason President Barack Obama imposed sanctions on Venezuela is because it is a national security threat to the U.S. That President Trump has imposed additional sanction because he is upset about democracy, freedom and the rule of law in Venezuela.

Well...
The opposition-controlled parliament demanded new elections and Maduro sabotaged the effort with procedural tricks. That's a fact.
Maduro is putting protesters before military courts, because the attorney-general has lambasted police-brutality. That's a fact.
The venezuelan Supreme Court judges are handpicked by Maduro. That's a fact.
They declared the parliament void and tried to install themselves as the unelected new parliament. That's a fact.
The venezuelan company responsible for counting the votes has said the vote-total has been tampered with. That's a fact.

The people of Venezuela like their democracy the way it is.

And THAT is exactly why the opposition is demanding new elections and why the people are protesting against Maduro's plan to rather change the system than lose an election.

The rest of the article is harping about the past and calling the press liars without any attempt to explain what exactly they are lying about. (I guess, calling others fake news and changing the subject is easier than coming up with actual truthful news.)
