CARACAS.- The second vice president of the National Council of Commerce and Services (Consecomercio), Vito Vinceslao , reported that sales in all sectors have fallen between 70% and 80% so far this year, and not because the population has not want to buy, but because they allocate the money to the acquisition of food and medicine.
"In some regions, specifically in Los Llanos, eastern states, we see that there are few products in supermarkets, but in Caracas, Maracay or Valencia, yes, there is, because the government broke, broke with the distribution chain and some are forced to sell to the government a high percentage for them to supply, "he said.
Vinceslao explained that the union members suffer
decapitalization after the measures taken by the Executive in December and there are no bolivars to acquire foreign currency . "As long as we do not have economic policies that are in line with the reality of the country, the shelves will remain empty; the businessmen do their best to supply, "he said in the program Por donde vamos that transmits Union Radio.

note: "Decapitalization" = "legal looting" of stores that Maduro ordered for his followers. As predicted, the store owners couldn't replace their stock, and now there is nothing at any price.
