Engineers deny the sabotage in the Venezuelan power plant and confirm that it was a fire
The repair of the electrical failure will take between 5 and 6 days due to the deterioration of the structure

translated from Spanish

"The undergrowth was very high and there was a fire," which destroyed the electricity transmission lines of the Guri's main hydroelectric plant last Thursday and plunged the country into darkness, the president of the Venezuelan Association of Electrical Energy of the College of Engineers, Winston Cabas.

Cabas informed the local press that the continuous blackouts that Venezuela is experiencing six days ago are the result of the instability and fragility of the electricity system, adding that to repair the Nicolás Maduro regime does not have qualified personnel or resources necessary to restore the service soon.

Under normal conditions the repair of the electrical failure would take between 4 and 8 hours , but given the deterioration that the structure presents the blackouts will last between 5 and 6 more days because the restoration is being done manually in each region.

Cabas denied the Maduro regime, which has accused Juan Guaidó and the United States of sabotaging the electrical system with a supposed cyber attack. "To begin with, this is impossible because the national system is not digital but analog."

Cabas said the fire occurred in the corridor of the 765 Kv line that connects with the Guri. "The undergrowth was very high and there was a fire that took two drivers out of operation due to overheating and one more fell due to an overload of energy which knocked down the transmission of the lines. It is important to say that between 80 and 90% of the generation of electricity in the country depends on hydroelectric power. "
