and George H W Bush's good friend, Rev. Sun Myung Moon went first, buying a vast estate first, bringing a multitude of his followers there, you may recall them working the crowds in airports in the US, out for donations to their Unification Church, same group which has had mass wedding of hundreds of brides and grooms.

Moon's ties to the Republicans go back at least as far as Richard M Nixon:

Clearly that property is going to demand an incredible price when water becomes even more scarce. (I might add that George H W Bush belonged to a corporation, Bechtel, which controlled a company, Aguas del Tunari, which controlled ALL the water in Bolivia, and started raising the price of water so high poor people weren't even able to afford it, they started rioting, their fascist dictator, Hugo Banzer, sent out military snipers to shoot into the crowds, etc. and after killing and blinding people, the uprising finally drove them out. Aguas del Tunari even tried to tax people for rainwater they tried to gather in rain barrels in their own yards! That was many years ago. Water is even more scarce now. This shows you these rich Republicans most clearly HAVE believed in climate change, no doubt whatsoever. It's proven when they start investing in the world's dwindling water resources.

Before Jenna Bush went down to Paraguay, in George W.'s family interests, Neil Bush, George W Bush's brother, went to Paraguay, himself, to do his own business, trading on the Bush's friendship with Moon, and Paraguay:

President's brother flaks for Moon organization in Latin America while his curriculum on wheels is being investigated by the Education Department's inspector general

by Bill Berkowitz / March 31st, 2008

Over the past several years, Neil Bush, the younger brother of President George W. Bush and the son of former President George H.W. Bush, has made several international trips of behalf of the Reverend Sun Myung Moon’s assorted enterprises. In late February, Bush called on Paraguay’s president while in the country as a guest of a business federation founded by the Rev. Moon.

A source in the Paraguayan president’s office, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that Neil had met with President Nicanor Duarte “along with a delegation from the Universal Peace Federation,” a group associated with Moon. According to its website, the UPF “is a global alliance of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace, a world in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation, and co-prosperity for all.”

Meanwhile, back home, late last year, a number of news reports confirmed that the U.S. Department of Education’s Inspector General was looking into “allegations that federal money is being spent inappropriately on technology sold to schools” by Ignite!Learning, a company founded by Neil Bush.

Pretty slick operators, aren't they?

Bush Buys 100,000 Acres on border of Paraguay & Brazil

uenos Aires, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) An Argentine official regarded the intention of the George W. Bush family to settle on the Acuifero Guarani (Paraguay) as surprising, besides being a bad signal for the governments of the region.

Luis D Elia, undersecretary for the Social Habitat in the Argentine Federal Planning Ministry, issued a memo partially reproduced by digital INFOBAE.com, in which he spoke of the purchase by Bush of a 98,842-acre farm in northern Paraguay, between Brazil and Bolivia.

The news circulated Thursday in non-official sources in Asuncion, Paraguay.

D Elia considered this Bush step counterproductive for the regional power expressed by Presidents Nestor Kirchner, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Evo Morales, Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

He said that "it is a bad signal that the Bush family is doing business with natural resources linked to the future of MERCOSUR."

The official pointed out that this situation could cause a hypothetical conflict of all the armies in the region, and called attention to the Bush family habit of associating business and politics.

Here is a photo of the huge airstrip, built during Richard Nixon's Presidency, which is enough to handle the largest US military transport airplane. It's named Mariscal Estigarribia, surrounded by jungle, close to the land bought by Moon.
