A 29-year-old woman who publicly battled depression jumped to her death from a 12-story building in Northern Brazil after firefighters tried to talk her down safely.

A woman, 29, who confronted her bouts with depression jumped to her death from her 12-story building in northern Brazil as firefighters attempted to restrain her.

A cellphone video recorded the frightening moment Grazielli Martinelli stood up and ran towards the edge of her building's water tank and leaped after she noticed a fireman approach her.

Authorities and family members in the port city of Belém spent five hours last Monday trying to convince the half-naked woman to climb down.
