I bumped into this very well-written and thorough article, and was immediately reminded of the conversation we had on Argentina's Kleins - all the way back on March 5th.

But there's still the question of how this very low-level analyst at the State Dept's Latin America office had Top Secret clearance.

My guess is that he was a back-channel between Trump and his pal Macri (see my post above).

But we'll probably never know.

In any case, I'm glad Vice News looked into this - and made their findings public.

It really helps U.S. readers get a glimpse into the minds of Argentina's (and to some extent, Latin America's) right-wingers - people who, in general, are big believers in the ends justifying the means, that democracy is a burden, and that voters don't deserve it anyway.

Just like Cheeto.
