1. No doubt at all the hard right is getting all kinds of support from the US hard right, as usual.

Fernández knew he was taking on a monstrous challenge before he ever started campaigning, as everyone did. Macri had done too much damage to the economy to allow anyone who followed him a fair chance to make any real inroads in the damage quickly. Fernández has already accomplished momentous work getting the country back on the road, and out of the deep ditch, engaged in repaying the grotesque debt Macri incurred which did Argentina NO good whatsoever.

Hope there are enough people with an overview who have been keeping track of what has happened during the last years, and, also can remember what happens every time a fascist sociopath worms his way into office. It's the same pattern we have here, and wherever these amoral thieves conspire with the militarists and industrialists and investor class to get elected again.

Thanks for sharing this insight here, peppertree, to alert DU'ers of what the situation is, how things look for decent people in Argentina, after Macri did his worst in record time. Thank god he didn't get a second term to finish his devastation of Argentina's economy.

On edit:

After looking at the photo again, I have to mention the tv news people doing their interview don't seem shy at all about shoving that mic right into people's faces while they are trying to have lunch. That looks SO STRANGE. Too bad their parents didn't raise them any better than that! Their victim should shake a little salt on it!
