If the figure of 2.76 undocumented crossing is anywhere near accurate, and assuming maybe a third of them paid $7000 for the attempt, then this is a $7 billion business--probably much more, in reality. Going after the poor victims isn't going to stem the flow. Only government forces (on both sides) going after the coyotes/polleros is the only thing that will put them on notice that there is some serious opposition to their tactics.
