(85,373 posts)As far as my research goes, the question is:
Who will make the decisions that shape your life? Your political organization (nation/state) or a GLobal Cartel of transnational corporations?
Since individuals (even shareholders) don't get any say over corporations, I would insist that the nations, especially those that are truly small-d democratic, get the say.
A nation is simply a bunch of people that live in close proximity to each other, ie: a community. Preferably with sound finances and defensible borders.
A corporation in its subservient role is a bunch of individuals who have pooled their money and labor to produce something larger than a one-man show.
But when a Corporation gets delusions of power, it starts to think IT should make life-or-death decisions and enforce them. That's not good for anybody, not even the corporation, which at the beginning is a construct of the State, and subject to its rules. A Rogue Corporation is a MONSTER. It must be put down.
