33. The minimum wage should be doubled

and then indexed to inflation. Democrats should make sure to campaign on increasing the minimum wage, as it's a winning issue. I think Rachel Maddow has looked into this extensively in the past, and i think it was part of Howard Dean's strategy before, too.

However, I don't think it's realistic that it passes any time soon.

Connecticut has a Democratic governor and a near super majority of Democrats in both houses of the state legislature, but they still chickened out when it came to increasing the minimum wage by a good amount. (I don't think there is a filibuster to block at the state level, either)

If one of the bluest states couldn't pass an increase, I don't think it would fly on a national level.
