10. It costs money to sell on Etsy, too. Sometimes more than just having your own website.

Etsy charges a flat fee for each item listed, each lasts only three months and you have to pay again to renew them. They take a percentage of the entire sale, including shipping even tho you have to spend that to mail the orders. They've always submitted a certain number of listings to Google Shopping every month free to the shop owners. Now they take a percentage of any sales that result from that, and shop owners are not allowed to opt out of the program.

And don't even get me started on the games they play with their algorithms, both on their site and Google. It's not a nice place to sell anymore and hasn't been for a very long time now.
