the librarian also handles the computer/network issues/set ups. As I remember librarians in the past, I cannot honestly say that they did anything more for me than watch me while I was in the library and check out my books (I spent a great deal of time in the library). I am not being critical of them, but the interaction of my family with them has been minimal.

I remember fondly finding wonderful treasures in the library growing up, but the world is so much different today. Exactly how libraries are structured and the task of librarians will need to grow with the technology.
