2. California seems to be particularly hard hit

But then I'm in New York and we had a serious freak snowstorm back in October, brought down a lot of trees since they still had their leaves and the ground wasn't frozen yet. There were widespread power outages all over and some places are still dealing with the damage. And just as it was beginning to look like Spring here, we got hit again last Tuesday. The 10 foot snowbanks are back...
