This is actually down moderately from last year... which saw 20GWs of Chinese capacity installed in the first half of the year and reportedly 34.2 GWs for the year as a whole.

Truly phenomenal. That's larger than worldwide installations as recently as 2011 or 2012 (and more than 2007-2010 combined).
