Once the temp catches up to the CO2 content in the atmosphere the rise in mean temperatures across the planet are going to go well past 2C. None of the climate data taken from ice cores going back 800,000+ years shows a CO2 content anywhere close to what we are at today. The data does show a uniform tracking of Temp to CO2. The highest CO2 number seen during that time span is around 300-320ppm of CO2. Today we are over 400ppm. The temperature will catch up and it is going to get much, much warmer.
