It gives their seedlings a better chance to survive, after all the competing underbrush, and even some trees, have been cleared away.

Absence of wildfires could cause some plants to go extinct.

There isn't a forest, per se, where it's burning in So Cal. It's chaparral, or people's yards. Shrike47 Nov 2019 #5
