2. I've been saying for years that the human race is doomed by its own shortsightedness.

I wish I was wrong and that by some miracle politicians would do what is necessary, but they won't. Corporations are pulling the strings and continued corporate profits depend on cause even more environmental destruction. Capitalism is the problem, but since Capitalism is the most scared of all sacred cows, criticizing it, let alone ending it, will never be tolerated. Thus, industrial civilization is doomed.

Mankind might survive, but probably only in small, pre-industrial groups.
