5. No. It will make air pollution even worse, and drive climate change faster.

As I pointed out, with appeals to the scientific literature, in detail, hydrogen is not primary energy, never has been and never will be.

Once again:

A Giant Climate Lie: When they're selling hydrogen, what they're really selling is fossil fuels.

I showed that to make 10 Exajoules of Hydrogen, it is necessary to consume about 20 Exajoules of dangerous fossil fuels, dumping the waste directly into the planetary atmosphere.

Except for the dishonest portrayal - appealing to popular nonsensical belief that the unsustainable and useless wind and solar industries are "green" - in reality more than 98% of the world's hydrogen is made from dangerous fossil fuels by reformation, and the trivial remainder is made from electricity generated by the combustion of dangerous fossil fuels. The exergy destruction I calculated for reformation (by appeal to the literature) was 47.36%, meaning to make 90.2 million tons of hydrogen, with an intrinsic energy value of 10.8 Exajoules (on a planet consuming annually around 630 Exajoules each year), 20.6 Exajoules of dangerous fossil fuel energy is consumed.

The Potemkin "renewable energy" plants that the fossil fuel salespeople and salesbots here and elsewhere hype with extremely dishonest "bait and switch" "green hydrogen" bullshit, are meaningless. I showed that they produce 0.37% of the world's hydrogen, and that electrolysis is even dirtier than thermal reformation, with an exergy destruction of 66.94% overall.

Electrolysis from electricity wasted to make hydrogen from clean nuclear energy was roughly equivalent to the solar and wind generated combined.

Hydrogen is generally not produced for all the cartoon shit video commercials posted here, hydrogen trucks, hydrogen cruise ships, hydrogen cars, line of dishonest bull after line of dishonest bull. The bulk of the world's hydrogen is used in the Haber Bosch ammonia synthesis process on which the world's food supply depends with 8 billion people on the planet. This is followed by the use of hydrogen to refine petroleum, and lastly to manufacture the solvent, window washing fluid component, (and more rarely fuel) methanol.

As for the world food supply, it is now threatened by extreme weather, extreme heat, extreme droughts, extreme floods, extreme, extreme, extreme.

These extremities were driven by th extreme salesmanship of the dangerous fossil fuel industries which has worked for half a century to convince gullible radiation paranoids that nuclear energy was "too dangerous" and climate change wasn't "too dangerous."

And of course, there was the exergy destroying marketing ploy of selling dangerous fossil fuels by rebranding them as "hydrogen."

Guess what? Floods, famines, the destruction of vast stretches of precious and irreplaceable ecosystems, the deaths from air pollution and now from extreme heat were not less dangerous than the big boogeyman at Fukushima.

I hold antinukes responsible for this outcome.

Ignorance kills not only people. It's killing the whole damned planet.

History will not forgive us; nor should it.
