The Republican Party I believe has sent out a message that they are backing the Social Darwinism point of view. It seems they are ready to make some very strong arguements in favor of cutting not just farm subsidies, but many other social programs as well. In other words, they appear to be in favor of throwing the poor and not-so-lucky to the dogs.
