4. There are a lot of non-lethal ways to handle coyotes.

Large dogs are one way. Coyotes don't often want to tangle with a large dog. Some have, but it's pretty rare. They are also afraid of the sounds of cougars so a cougar sound track would scare them off as well. They are also not fond of wolves usually. Wolf urine would also scare them off( I have no idea how to collect wolf urine). Over all I think the best method is to have a pack of large dogs, they can protect livestock and are good companions as well.
