Perhaps this is a test, something like. Even if this is only a temporary home, it was given to us by G*D; even if we have dominion over the earth, we have trashed the house built by G*D. The Lord requires we treat him with respect and love, we treat ourselves with respect and love, we treat others with respect and love...why would we think the common theme of respect and love doesn't apply to the house G*G lent us?
