I remember thinking when scientists reported recording the cry of an ivory-billed woodpecker in Arkansas that a guard should be posted. I could just imagine every redneck hunter within a 50-mile radius instantly grabbing a rifle, thinking, "I'm gonna GIT that sumbitch!" I'm sure Britain has its share of such "sportsmen."
